To achieve SOF’s goals of global stability and security, it is critical to include women – service members from both U.S. and partner nation SOF - in all aspects of operations. This new monograph examines formal and informal laws related to personal status and sexual/gender-based violence in Jordan and Somalia to demonstrate how the rule of law can impede women’s ability to participate fully in society and in the security sector.
