SOF professionals are persistently immersed in a stream of volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) compound security dilemmas which require the dynamic application of a flexible, creative thinking tool-set, skill-set and mind-set. Accordingly, this 5-day residential course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to apply the science of creative thinking via a 4-stage creative process methodology against a SOF-relevant problem set to gain experience translating theory into actionable outcomes. Furthermore, students will develop skills to facilitate team-based approaches to creative problem solving in the face of dynamic situations and SOF-peculiar scenarios that require the application of innovative thinking in order to create value in the form of novel strategies / concepts / effects, and/or to drive organizational adaptation and evolution. Total time commitment: 5-day residential course with pre-work (distance learning)
