Eddie Edwards

Since joining JSOU in 2011, Mr. Edwards
has overseen the JSOU Quality Assurance Program as the Director of
Institutional Effectiveness. He is responsible for all student surveys, student
demographics, and tailored analysis to support course improvement,
accreditation, and university operations. Mr. Edwards served in the United
States Army as an Air Defense Artillery (Patriot) officer at Fort Bliss and
Saudi Arabia. He performed in various tactical roles to include tactics
trainer, launcher platoon leader, fire control officer, battery executive
officer, deployed Reduced Readiness Battery commander, and battalion operations
officer. In 2005, Mr. Edwards joined the Directorate of Combat Developments at
Fort Bliss to provide program analysis for future Air Defense systems. From
2006 to 2011, Mr. Edwards served as an Operations Research Systems Analyst for
the TRADOC Analysis Center at the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. There
he conducted tactical wargame development, data analysis supporting major
acquisition decisions, studied battlefield phenomenology, and performed geospatial analysis. In
2007 he received the Army Modeling and Simulation Award as a member of the Land
Warrior M&S Integration Team. In 2009, he received the Army Achievement
Medal for Civilian Service for operational analytic support to the Joint IED
Defeat Organization. Mr. Edwards graduated from West Point in 1998, earning a
Bachelor of Science in Comparative Politics with a track in Systems Engineering. He also holds a Bachelor
of Arts from St. Leo University in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. In
2009, he earned a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico
State University. In 2016 he completed a Master of Fine Arts in Creative
Writing from the University of Tampa. His professional education includes the
Army Civilian Education System Intermediate Leaders Course, Operations Research
Military Application Course, the Kirkpatrick Certified Professional – Silver
Level for training evaluation, the People Analytics Workshop at MIT, the Design
Thinking Workshop at Harvard University, the Strategic Planning Workshop at
Georgetown University, and the Return On Investment (ROI) course from the Phillip's ROI Institute.
His hobbies include playing guitar, fishing, and writing short stories
(fiction) for publication.
