JSOU Newcomer Orientation (JNOC)
Description
Description. This 3-day orientation program prepares new JSOU personnel to understand, articulate, and contribute to the JSOU and USSOCOM mission. It coincides with the JSOU Onboarding Program and is scheduled as often as needed. Grounded in adult learning principles, the program centers on three core pillars: • Culture: Who we are and how we work — values, norms, and the JSOU family ethos. • Connection: Relationships across departments that make JSOU stronger. • Context: The strategic environment: SOF, USSOCOM, and how JSOU fits the larger mission. Format: • 3 days | ~4 hours per day (0800–1200; Day 3 runs 0800–1130 + optional lunch + All Hands 1300–1400) • Location: Lutz Conference Room, MacDill AFB (or alternate location) | All Hands: Eagle Claw Auditorium • Themes: WHO WE ARE (Day 1) | WHAT WE DO (Day 2) | HOW WE DO IT (Day 3) • Audience: All new JSOU personnel regardless of role or background • Facilitator: Senior JSOU staff / department leads as subject matter contributors as appropriate
