Joint Sensitive Activity Legal Training
Description
Description: The Joint Sensitive Activity Legal Training (JSALT) course prepares legal practitioners to provide thorough legal advice in planning, review, execution, oversight, and assessment of sensitive activities across the Special Operations Forces (SOF) enterprise. Through a mixture of lecture and scenario-based instruction, built around a realistic but fictitious concept of operations (CONOP), learners will analyze legal authorities, policy impacts, operational considerations, and oversight requirements to develop comprehensive legal recommendations in support of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and/or SOF supported combatant command (COCOM) missions. Duration: This is a five-day course beginning Monday, 2 November 2026 and ending Friday, 6 November 2026. Location: This is an in-person course held at Joint Special Operations University, MacDill AFB, Bldg. 5200.

This course is designed for current or identified (have received orders/accepted job offers) judge advocates, civilian attorneys, or paralegals assigned or attached to SOF units and commands that will be advising on or providing oversight of sensitive activities.
